This poster design was inspired while I was working on an painting, where I was exploring the visceral intensity of fire through fragmented forms and radiant colors. Using layers of yellow and white gold, along with glazes of reds, oranges, and yellows, I aimed to capture the heat, energy, and destruction of a wildfire, surrounded by ash and charred remains.
As I worked on the painting, I began reflecting on the 2018 Camp Fire, the deadliest wildfire in California's history. The fire devastated the town of Paradise, burning over 150,000 acres and leaving behind unimaginable loss. Those reflections ultimately inspired me to create this poster as part of my global warming awareness series, highlighting the Camp Fire as a stark reminder of the growing climate crisis.
This design pays tribute to the lives and landscapes lost in the Camp Fire and serves as a call to action against the increasing threat of climate change.
